Join us as we celebrate the 11th year of Moray Business Women at our Annual Awards Ball at the Eight Acres Hotel in Elgin.
Moray Business Women Annual Awards serve to showcase and celebrate the achievements of women in business across Moray in all sectors, whether running your own business or employed in business. Awards such as these highlight the ever increasing contribution of women to the economic success of Moray and inspire and motivate other women.
The evening begins with a drinks reception – grab a glass of fizz and catch up with friends.
And don’t forget to strike a pose for our official photographer Helen Crowley.
Jock, a well kent face around Forres and Moray is no stranger to running his own business and in fact Macbeth’s Butchers and Game Dealer has been owned by his family for 30 years. He became an internet sensation after a video of him hunting those ever elusive haggis went viral. Jock is not afraid to put himself on the line for his business and even entered a Sexiest Butcher contest to gain more publicity!
But he understands the trials and tribulations that go hand in hand with running a family business, not only juggling the farm, shop and online business but he and his wife Fiona also have their hands full managing three children, the youngest being just five months old.
Jock is a board member for Quality Meat Scotland, Co-chair of the Forres Business Association and sits on the steering committee for the Highlands and Islands Food & Drink Awards.
We will then be seated for the President’s address as we look back on 2017 before meeting all of our finalists and “crowning” the winners in the following award categories:
Then it’s a chance to relax into a sumptuous three course dinner:
Roulade of Scottish Smoked Salmon
Melba toast, beetroot coulis
Roast Red Pepper, Caper and Goat’s Cheese Salad
Pan Roasted Pork Loin
Champ potatoes, apple and Madeira sauce
Mixed Bean Chilli
Strawberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake
Vanilla pod ice cream
Dark Chocolate and Cointreau Mousse
Zesty fresh raspberries
Freshly Brewed Tea or Coffee with tablet and shortbread
Guests will have the opportunity to note any specific dietary requirements or exclusions at the time of booking.
After supper we hear from our well-deserving charity Moray Foodbank before we head into a warm up and the live charity auction.
We will have some fantastic auction and raffle prizes up for grabs – more of those will be revealed as we get closer to the Ball.
And finally, as the formalities draw to a close, we will round off the evening with Footerin’ Aboot. A local and popular Moray band performing a wide variety of original songs, vibrant compositions, traditional tunes, well known covers and ceilidh dances. These lads are currently taking the stage by storm at festivals all over Scotland – more locally you may have seen them perform at Speyfest, Belladrum and the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival. We are thrilled they have space to fit us in and get you on that dance floor this evening!
It’s sure to be a great night and we look forward to seeing you there.
Tickets are £50 each (plus booking fee) including a welcome glass of fizz. Just a wee reminder this is not a “closed” event. Members and non members, colleagues, partners and guests, ladies and gents are all invited and will be made very welcome. It is always a great night, a chance to let your hair down, and celebrate approaching the end of another great year. And what’s more, we hope to make an extra “bob or two” for Moray Foodbank too!
Tickets are now on sale in our Eventbrite portal at https://mbw-awards-ball-2017.eventbrite.co.uk
We are currently seeking sponsors for our Awards and the celebratory Ball. Packages start from as little as £250. We also welcome raffle prizes and auction lots with all proceeds from the event going to our overall end of year fundraising total for Moray Foodbank. If you would like any further information on how to support our charity through any of these methods then please contact a member of the committee.
